Ahmed Khalaf
UAEDr. Khalaf graduated from Cairo’s Faculty of Medicine in 1994 (Excellent appreciation), and got his Master’s degree (anesthesia) in 1999, then doctorate degree (anesthesia and pain relief) in 2004 from Cairo University, Egypt. He worked as an Assistant Professor in Anesthesia, ICU and pain relief dept. at the National Cancer Institute, Egypt, from 2005 - 2017.
Dr. khalaf joined Dubai Hospital in 2008 as a Senior Specialist, and was promoted to acting-Consultant in 2012, then finally to Consultant in 2014. Since 2010, Dr. Khalaf has had an overall responsibility for Pain Service in Dubai Hospital. This includes Dubai Hospital’s pain related policies and guidlines, in addition to clinical consultations related to pain management. Dr. Khalaf lead the Labor Analgesia Campaign in Dubai Hospital which extended for about 8 years. Dr. Khalaf also published several publications related to anesthesia and pain, aided by invitations as a speaker in several international conferences. Over more than 8 years, Dr. Khalaf studied extensively the use of α2 agonists as an adjuvant for both general and regional anesthesia. His ambition in this group of medicine started to challenge severe obstructive sleep apnea, then extended to all types of of patients whether undergoing general and/or regional anesthesia.
Currently, Dr. Khalaf appointed as Deputy and Associate director of Anesthesia Residency Program in Dubai Health (DAHC) and he is fully responsible for Anesthesia medical education in Dubai Hospital.

He is also highly experienced in Arthroscopy of upper limb and knee joints.
